Pushkar Mela is the largest cattle fair in the world, held annually in October-November on the sands outside the holy town of Pushkar, Rajasthan. Over a period of five days, thousands of camels are bought and sold by camel traders from various parts of Rajasthan and beyond, who travel here with entire families on camel carts laden with enough provision to sustain them in the parched desert state.
